When your stressing out, overwhelmed, feeling anxious or you simply have too much on your mind, go for a quick walk  You don’t need to “make a commitment to an exercise program”. I know when I try to commit to a program, as soon as I miss a day,  I feel like I have to restart the program.  Having to stick to a program actually stresses me out.  You also don’t need to change into “gym clothes and expensive walking shoes”.  You don’t have to power walk or speed walk, you can stroll if you prefer. It doesn’t have to be a 30 minute or 2 mile excursion. Even 10 minutes can be beneficial to your psyche.  Just get up and go for a walk.

Benefits of a Quick Walk

  • Clear your Mind
  • Calm your Nerves
  • Improve Circulation
  • Decrease Joint Pain
  • Reduce Stress and Anxiety
  • Be More Productive

There is a load of excuses not to go for a walk. It’s too cold or raining. Well then bundle up or grab an umbrella (unless there’s thunder). Lighting is definitely a good excuse to not go out for a walk.  Fire up the old treadmill (it’s under the stack of clothes in the basement) or if your lucky enough to have a gym at your workplace, use it.  Another great place is a local mall. Stay out of the break room and go for a 10 minute stroll instead. Bottom line is - there are many small steps (no pun intended) to reduce your stress and a quick walk is one of those easy steps you can take. ❤️
